This site is information, not legal advice. It answers for New Zealand; its figures come from the instruments cited on each page; and nothing here is a prediction of what any court, enforcement officer or authority will do in your case.
These terms apply to noticeclear.nz and to everything published on it. Using the site means accepting them. If you do not accept them, the appropriate response is not to use the site.
Every figure here comes from New Zealand instruments — the Land Transport Act 1998 and the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999. Nothing on this site describes the law of any other country, and an amount, a points figure or a threshold from here should not be carried across a border.
Within New Zealand, a road controlling authority’s own bylaws can set figures that this site does not hold. Where the schedules themselves say a fee may be a lesser amount fixed locally, this site does not print a national number for it.
Every figure on this site is transcribed from a named provision and carries the instrument and the consolidation date it was read at. That is the strongest claim available and it is not a guarantee: instruments are amended, consolidations lag, and a change made recently may not be reflected here yet.
These figures have not yet been through this site’s final review. The provision cited under each table is the authority; where this site and the instrument disagree, the instrument is right and we would like to know about it.
Where New Zealand law does not set something, this site says so rather than filling the gap — there is no speed-measurement tolerance and no general payment deadline on this site because neither is set by the instruments it holds.
The calculators apply the schedules to figures you enter. They compute the same rule the site’s engine computes — that agreement is asserted at build time across every value they can produce — but they answer for the figures you give them, and they know nothing about your matter beyond that.
They are not a lookup and not a record. They ask for no identifiers, hold nothing, and send nothing anywhere.
It is not a government service and has no connection to NZTA, NZ Police, the Ministry of Justice or any court. It does not act for you, cannot dispute a notice on your behalf, and cannot arrange or accept a payment.
Decisions that turn money or a licence on an amount should be taken on the notice you were sent, or on advice from someone who has read your matter.
This site is provided as it is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for loss arising from reliance on it. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be limited.
