This statement is made under the Privacy Act 2020. It describes what this build of the site actually does — not what a site of this kind might do.

None. There is no account system, no newsletter, no comment form, no contact form and no lookup on this site. It never asks for a name, an email address, a driver licence number, a notice reference, a date of birth or a vehicle plate, and it has no server-side application to receive one if you offered it.

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The figures you type into them are used to compute an answer on your own device and are not transmitted, stored or logged anywhere.

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google), to count visits and see which pages are read. Every page also carries a single inline consent declaration that runs first and refuses analytics, advertising and personalisation storage outright — for every visitor, in every country, with no regional exception — and there is no banner here, of ours or Google’s, that could lift it. In that state the tag runs cookielessly: it sets no analytics cookie and stores no identifier on your device.

What Google does receive, per page view, is the page address, the referring page, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. Nothing you type into a calculator is part of that, because it never leaves your browser. Nothing here profiles you or builds an audience from you, and there is no advertising and no cross-site tracking.

You can confirm all of this by viewing the source of this page: the consent declaration is the first script in the head, and the measurement tag follows it.

Our own measurement code does read your browser on every page view, to look for the gr_int flag that keeps our own testing out of the figures. It is a single switch rather than an identifier, it is written only after a visit with ?internal=1 appended, and the cookies page describes it in full.

On an ordinary visit this site sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage — the measurement described above runs cookielessly. That is why you see no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The one exception is our own internal-visit flag, which an ordinary visit never triggers; the cookies page names it in full.

Like any web server, the host serving these pages records ordinary request information — an IP address, the page requested, a timestamp and a user-agent string — for the purpose of operating and securing the service. That is a technical necessity of serving a page rather than a measurement of you, it is not linked to anything else, and it is not used to build a profile.

One: a page load requests the Google Analytics script from Google, which processes your IP address in serving it — under the default-denied configuration above it sets no cookie and stores no identifier. Beyond it no third-party font, image or stylesheet is loaded on this site; the typefaces are served from this domain, so no font provider learns that you visited.

Some pages link out to official services — NZTA, the Ministry of Justice, the New Zealand legislation website. Those are ordinary links: following one takes you to somebody else’s site, governed by their own privacy statement and not by this one.

The Privacy Act 2020 gives you the right to ask an agency for the personal information it holds about you and to ask for it to be corrected. This site holds none, so there is nothing to request and nothing to correct — but if you believe otherwise, write to info@noticeclear.nz and you will get a straight answer.

If you are not satisfied with how a privacy matter has been handled, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

This statement is dated below. It is updated when what the site does changes, not on a schedule — and the description of the analytics position in particular is kept in step with the build rather than written to cover a future one.
